Above is a closer look at the style of corset that would have been worn during this time. At this time, they were generally still called stays. This one is from 1825-1835.

A very Romantic dress from 1872.

What would seem a fairly similar dress to the Chemise à la reine seen in the previous two posts is actually an 1885 tea gown inspired by the more loose fitting Aesthetic style. It provided the (lucky!) lady who worn it with a more comfortable alternative to the complicated vividly-colored dresses fashionable at the time, while still being proper for welcoming guests at home.

Absolutely exquisite 1928-1929 evening sandals by André Perugia. These amazing shoes feature cast metal heels and open backs, a feature that did not enter mainstream fashion until the mid-1930s.
